Invaded with the Lottery Fever

Lines were longer and the stakes increases. Filipinos go crazy for the Lotto jackpot which costs around Php 700,000,000. Who would not be tempted to stake even one? Even though the combinations for the 6/55 can be millions, others still try their luck for the jackpot. It's like the moon waiting for the sun to come back and be together. But nobody can blame them considering the poor state of our country. So they go for something INSTANT.

Every night when I hear news, one episode of a news program won't end without any updates for the yesterday's results or the current amount of the jackpot prize. You can see how the long line can make a crowd along with the reporter, waving their hands with their tickets. Looking deeply in our economic stability, we became desperate for high living. We want to escape this life full of sickening small daily budgets for our needs. The belt is trully tight and we're tired of these.

The prize is indeed a life-changer. Imagine how will your sardines transform into steamed tuna, and your instant noodles into luxurious foreign noodles. But that is how Filipinos are. We are wanderers of luck. As I've said, generally, we go for something instant. Why don't we stretch our muscles and strive hard? The feeling of earning money after a hard work is so awesome, isn't it? We must not depend on this thing. We are not handicapped. We can do something. This country wouldn't progress if everyone injects in their narrow brains that lotto can progress our lives.

Right now, my mom wants to have a stake. She was induced with the lotto fever. Oh please, when will Filipinos learn? I respect them buying tickets for these but I think this is too much. Money blinded them. Philippines, we have faced so much trials. Please strive hard, join me. Go for money made from hard work.
