Man's Molder to Success

Infomal Theme #
Blog # 4

Humanity is a vast and marvelous world,
For so many mysteries still remain untold.
So much things and stuffs for each people to uphold,
But there's one person's life we will unfold.

A chalk, blackboard, a stick and manila paper,
I see with her, while students with a piece of paper.
Standing in front of the classroom, with poise and bliss,
Every words she says, students should never ever miss.

As I stand firm, a strong relationship starts to grow,
Student and teacher, hand in hand with the life's flow.
My problems, together we fix and slowly solve,
we became friends ready for the world to revolve.

As my second parent, we travel highs and lows of life,
Arms locked, with parent and teachers facing strife.
Teachers will never change and always stays the same,
I will always remember them and will never be ashamed.

Sonnet 42 - 'My future will not copy fair my past'

'My future will not copy fair my past'—
I wrote that once; and thinking at my side
My ministering life-angel justified
The word by his appealing look upcast
To the white throne of God, I turned at last,
And there, instead, saw thee, not unallied
To angels in thy soul! Then I, long tried
By natural ills, received the comfort fast,
While budding, at thy sight, my pilgrim's staff
Gave out green leaves with morning dews impearled.
I seek no copy now of life's first half:
Leave here the pages with long musing curled,
And write me new my future's epigraph,
New angel mine, unhoped for in the world!

The poet says that her future will not define her past. Things in the past would not formulate her future. Past events will be forever in the past and it is upon her what would happen in the future.

Such events happened to the author's life made her wrote a sonnet like this. In my assumption, the author finally moved on what happened in her past which is miserable. So she tries to forget it and seek something positive in her future. Maybe this is the time she found her lover, Robert Browning. She felt such bliss when she met him forgetting her dull and unmemorable past. She is fulfilled of her present life now and she doesn't need to reminisce her life before. she harvested joy in her present life.

Still, there are other possible reasons for the message of the sonnet. It can be her other personal experiences in her life.

Pop Music: A World of Competition

Informal Theme #
Blog # 2

Entertainment industry breeds talents and treats them sons and daughters, but when it is showtime, they let them fight for fame.

Filipinos go crazy for BigBang, Super Junior, SNSD, and other Korean Pop (K-POP) groups. Their perfect eyes, appealing smiles, and awesome dance routines make us be their top fans as we watch their music videos. We searched and dig videos in youtube and other fan sites to know their birthday, favorite color, and favorite food. They built an icon, as I would describe it. But we Filipinos can do it as well, right?

As far as I know, Im Yoona (임윤아), member of the raging all-girl group SNSD, trained under a korean entertainment company for six years before being exposed to Korea's national television. Our entertainment industry can do it as well as long as they extract almost every skill their talents have. We, Filipinos are talented individuals. We can excel in such aspects that we outstand other countries. Philippines is not a copycat and  we can make our own identity.

Pop Girls and XLR8 were the one who introduced P-POP ( Philippine Pop). Unexpected for me but it is a good thing to try this kind of genre. Although we excel in different kind of music like slow and calm, it is not bad to experiment things. Maybe it would be new and unusual to hear P-POP music, but maybe we'll get use to it.

Still, we already built an image which is our precious balladeers and acoustic singers. It includes, Christian Bautista, Nina, and Juris. We have the world-renowned Lea Salonga where every Filipino is proud of her. We have as well our divas namely Bituin Escalante, Jaya, Regine Velasquez, Zsa Zsa Padilla, and a whole lot more. They make us proud of our country, don't they?

I can't blame some of my fellow Filipinos for them not to be proud of where they are born and what are we showing upon the world. There is corruption, slow progression, and other things that is possessed by our country that negates our individuality. These teenagers having an average height, who wouldn't stop texting till their thumbs drop can be proud of their country if we will improve a LOT.

One thing I noticed at Korea is that they are not ashamed of what their language is. They ride the plane of innovation along with their culture and language. Even they are one of the progressive countries in the world, they are proud of it. With these, they improve in different fields including the entertainment industry.

Someday, Philippines will stand up loud and proud to be the Pearl of the Orient. We will be proud of our P-POP groups roaming around the globe for their fans and we will be the home of the finest talents craved by the whole world.
